System of Car Control

Remember: Can My Safe Plan Still Go ? Ahead

Course - know where you want to go. From here to Is it safe? look for information to answer that question. Begin with:
Mirrors - in pairs - the centre mirror and the door mirror on the side you will move or turn to OR, in a traffic queue the two door mirrors, to pick up filtering cycles/motorcycles. Now:
Signal if necessary - with indicators, by hand, with brake lights, by your actions.
Position - be in (or at least plan) the correct position on the road.
Speed - be at the correct speed for the hazard (usually means brake, but not always).
Gear - be in the correct gear for the speed.
?Is it safe? By now you should have seen enough to decide. If not safe, change the plan (slow down or stop). Otherwise:
Accelerate - if safe, apply enough acceleration to take you smoothly through the hazard (not necessarily getting faster).
